The Nurse Aide Education Course began in January 2005 in response to the need for aides in the long-term care setting.
Nurse Aides work under the supervision of nurses and provide hands-on care to clients such as providing for activities of daily living, assisting with feeding and ambulating and performing various procedures. It is an essential role that functions to meet the needs of the elderly, chronically ill and/or home-bound clients.

With 45 lecture, 112 skills lab and clinical hours, you will be well prepared to provide competent, quality care to patients in a variety of settings such as long-term care, assisted living, and homecare.
Graduates of the Course receive a certificate of completion and are required to take the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP) Examination given by the Virginia Board of Nursing to become certified as a Nursing Assistant (CNA). Certification is required to practice as a Nurse Aide.
