The ST program leads to an Associate of Applied Science degree and a national certification. Graduates of the program are qualified to work in Sentara operating rooms and other surgical facilities to:

Prepare surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies

Anticipate and provide for the needs of the surgeon

Maintain aseptic technique during surgical procedures
